This piece is one that frustrates me because in my head I know what it means but I am a terrible writer, so to get the meaning OUT if very hard for me.
Basically the light and dark in this drawing is;

Her mind and her soul is kind and loving. She wants so much more out of life, wants to be loved, wants a child... but she is a pirate, born into the trade and unable to change her rank in society without betraying those she cares for... she bares the scars of her life both emotionally and physically. She hates herself, hates her comrads and hates the life of a pirate.
